Planning Intial ideas

                                                   planning intial idea

In my group we had a lot of ideas about what we wanted to develop on our thriller narrative.

Idea1:

Narrative: Female victim is home alone in the middle of isolated place, someone knocks at the door, she’s opens the door no one is outside, then the second time she opens the door there’s a child at her door step crying staring helplessly at the female victim directly for help, she feels sorry for the child she takes the child inside her house not knowing that behind there someone lurking inside when she sees the antagonist though the mirror she tries to run she gets attacked by the antagonist  to death.

Title: knock, knock

Subgenre: psychological thriller its focus on the female character as it messes up with the female’s          victims head.

The character: one female victim, a child and antagonist.

Mes: location house in isolated place, the female victim will be wearing cream top and plain trouser, the child will be wearing a   white and dark trouser to show that a child is supposed to be innocent character; the antagonist will be wearing dark clothing such as black hoodie and a mask to hide his identity.

Lighting: will be low key lighting to focus on the characters.

Iconography: toy, knife blood and mirror.

Narrative structure:  Aristotle structure.

The advantages are a realistic setting.

The disadvantages it’s going to be difficult to find a child to play the character.

Idea 2:

 Jade’s idea

Narrative: A male and three females are on their way from the airport after their recent   holidays. They become lost and exit the car towards a forest to find help for directions, the sun sets quickly and the fear sets in as the victims become aware of the darkness. They come across a man who looks as though he may help however he turns to be the antagonist. He holds the victims hostage in the abandoned forest. The hostages break free and make the big escape into the world of unknown.

Title: The escape

Sub-genre: crime thriller as it focuses on the antagonist and his victims rather than the protagonists/ heroes.

Characters:  one male victim and three female victims. One male antagonist.

Narrative structure: Todorov

Mes: Costume- typical light clothes for the victims and dark colours for the antagonist.

Lighting-  Natural lighting in the forest, top lighting when on the main road for the lamp post.

Iconography: Blood, Rope and knives

Advantages: in a realistic setting, small amount of actors.

Disadvantages: if the weather is bad it may effect filming, the time of the day in a forest.

Khalid’s idea

Narrative: A group of teenagers go out for a night out  as they, find a large tree with red ribbons tried to it, Timothy explain to the fools about the red ribbon on the tree until he forced to no longer speak about it. Then Timothy gets really angry and walks off in another direction. The whole group get lost and decide to split up by look by trying to look for help, they all end up missing and the ending it is completely unexpected.

 Title: The known massacre

 Sub-genre – crime

 Characters: timothy (nerd)

                        Jason (bully)

                         Rex (leader)

                        Little boy/girl

                          Girl 1

                        Girl 2

                        Girl 3

Narrative structure: Todorov

 Mes: Casual bright clothes,

 Location -forest and dark room.

Advantage: location forest finding characters.

Disadvantages- weather raining that can cause problems for filming, and it will be hard to find a child to act.

 Sezer’s idea

Narrative:  A group of people; some close, some annoying. They are off to record a thriller in the foggy woods. People   are trying to messing around by screaming and scarring each other however, they start to go missing / dying. The group starts to get smaller and everyone starts to wonder who it is and therefore they start to not trust each other. At the end everyone apart from one person dies so the audience thinks it’s them. A blackout occurs and the person they thought it was is tied to a chair with blood and torture equipment’s around him.

 Title: wanted/ lost

 Sub-genre: crime

Characters: nerd, couple, annoying bunch of friends, a suspicious quite person/ all to themselves / independent.

 Advantages: weather, setting

Disadvantages: the weather can be a problem for filming if it’s too foggy  it  will be hard to film.

  1. Good planning of potential ideas here. Good to see that you have discussed different options and have critically thought about them too.

To improve, more analysis and description of Sezer's idea and state at the end which idea out of the three you will most likely go with and why
