12 A is fairly a new age rating that came as a result of spider man -12 used to be PG it got changed in (2002). Views argued that Spiderman was too violence for children, and had a controversial narrative, so should not be given a PG ratings.
Therefore, The BBFC gave it a 12 ratings other viewer argued that Spiderman was a childhood comic hero, so it was only fair that children were allowed to watch it. Then there was another change this time it got given 12A rating which meant that those under 12 could only watch the film if they are accompanied by an adult.
Finally, I am able to say that I have learned the differences age certificates and how they affect parents and their children, I am able to have an clear understanding on what my thriller film ratings may be and how adjust it so it can be suitable for certain audiences. In my opinion I think that age certificate is good and effective because the films children watch it has a massive impact on their future lives, for example a young child usually play fights with their friends and may find extreme violence good and 'cool' this is a turn point why we must have age certificates on many films so that the young children are not exposed effected or influenced completely, this information has helped me know exactly what my thriller rating may be which is a 15 also it as given me the necessary to help me keep my thriller age rating with the 15border, rather than raising it to an 18 i have to be restricted.
